Key Sustainable Actions

Management & Leadership

Adopt an Environmental Policy Statement

Hikma Has an established Environmental Policy that is systemic across all site locations.

Identify a Sustainability Leader / Create a Sustainability Team

Hikma is in the process of forming a Sustainability Team through the collaboration of site management. In December, a training will be performed with site management introducing them to what a Sustainability Team does and what the Team's expectations will be. Initially, due to West-Ward's small size, this team will only consist of site management and meet monthly. However, employees will be encouraged to assist on projects and facilitate new ideas to Supervisors and Managers through an awareness campaign.

Set Annual Environmental Goals

Hikma planned and completed Carbon Disclosure Project Reporting in 2017.

Implement an Environmental Management System

Hikma Pharmaceuticals is committed to being conscious of the effects of our operations on the environment. As part of this mission, we intend to meet or exceed Environmental compliance through employing practices to assist with pollution prevention and demonstrate continual improvement through waste minimization and resource conservation. Implementation of this policy and supporting policies through our environmental management system will align the conduct of our business operations with our programmatic mission to restore, protect and enhance the environment. Our Management system focuses on a Plan, Do, Check, Act model and offers continuous improvement in regards to the established Environmental Programs. During 2017, West-Ward created a Corporate Waste Management Standard to set expectations for all facilities regarding the generation and management of wastes. The standard requires facilities to implement waste minimization and recycling programs.
