Riggs Distler believes that sustainability is characterized by using resources without jeopardizing or compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. We are committed to providing customers, and the communities we serve, with sustainable, clean, affordable, solutions that are safe and reliable. Riggs Distler shall comply with all applicable environmental federal, state, and local jurisdictional regulations and standards. The organization will continuously assess, and where necessary, improve the impacts that our operations have on the environment. Riggs Distler will also benchmark with customers and industry peers alike to meet our sustainability expectations.

Riggs Distler's environmental sustainability program is overseen by the Chief Executive Officer. The Sustainability Team is led by the Environmental Health and Safety Director. Team members include the Environmental Manager (Advisor), six Environmental Health and Safety Managers, and nineteen Environmental Health and Safety Coordinators.

Riggs Distler annual environmental targets include: (1) Reduction of energy consumption at our facilities. (2) Reduction of fuel consumption by our passenger vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment. (3) Reduction of spilled product such as oil from our vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment.

Riggs Distler has used some of the elements of an Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Plan to prevent waste, resource consumption, and pollution.

The organization strives to meet or exceed the environmental sustainability expectations of our various stakeholders. Stakeholders includes our employees, customers, regulators, investors and the general public. Riggs Distler has a green philosophy and is dedicated to environmental sustainability. We are moving forward with continuous improvement of our Environmental Management System, which is based on guidance contained within the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001. Riggs Distler Inc. has additionally created sustainability policies that are tailored to assist our employees to be good stewards of the environment. Our motto is “Under One Hat,” which indicates our full organizational commitment to safety, operational performance, protecting natural resources, recycling, conservation, and regeneration.

Riggs Distler reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators by recycling. We recycle paper, cardboard, and batteries.

We have made various energy efficient upgrades in two of our main campus office buildings. We have installed LED smart lights that shut off when you leave the room and have made upgrades to our heating and cooling.
